Arson suspected as cause of Baton Rouge vacant house fire

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Baton Rouge fire investigators are searching for a suspect accused of setting a vacant house on fire.

The incident happened in the 600 block of North 16th Street in Baton Rouge.

Firefighters with the BRFD first arrived to the scene at about 2:20 p.m., and were able to extinguish the fire in approximately 10 minutes. Authorities say the fire extended into portions of the attic before being brought under control.

The building sustained about $7,000 in damage.
