Tigers land two on preseason All-SEC teams

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WAFB) -

LSU has landed two players on this year's Coaches All-SEC teams which were announced by the league on Thursday.

Tiger freshman sensation Ben Simmons has been named to the All-SEC Preseason First Team and junior guard Tim Quarterman has been named to the Second Team All-SEC.

Kentucky once again leads the way with four selections while LSU, Georgia, Mississippi State, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt have two each.

All 14 SEC teams officially tip-off the 2015-16 season this weekend. LSU plays McNeese State Friday in the PMAC at 8:00 p.m. on ESPNU.

Conference play is set to begin on Jan. 2 and the 2016 SEC Tournament will be March 9-13 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
