CENTRAL, LA (WAFB) - The city of Central paid homage Wednesday to area veterans.
A couple hundred people came to the city's Veteran's Day ceremony in the courtyard of Central Intermediate School.
The crowd heard patriotic tunes from the Central High School Jazz Band and a children's choir. People also listened to local leaders saluting veterans including Mayor Jr. Shelton and Congressman Garret Graves.
"We are truly blessed here in America, and we're not blessed because of anything I did or anyone in my family did," said U.S. Rep. Graves. "We're blessed because of the incredible sacrifice, sacrifices that our veterans have made for our country."
Wednesday night's event was put on by the Republican Women of Central and the Geaux 7 Blue Star Moms.
