BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The second College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released by the College Football Playoff Committee on Tuesday.
LSU was ranked at No. 9 after falling from the No. 2 spot the Tigers were given in the first rankings.
The Clemson Tigers remains at No. 1, while Alabama jumps up from No. 4 to No. 2. The Crimson Tide beat LSU, 30-16, in Tuscaloosa Saturday.
The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish round out the top four at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively.
There are only two other SEC teams in the rankings with the Florida Gators at No. 11 and the Mississippi State Bulldogs at No. 18
The rankings are released every Tuesday until the final rankings which come out on December 6. The top four teams will play in the Orange and Cotton bowls. The bowl games will be on New Year's Eve and serve as semi-final games with the winners of each game advancing to the National Championship game. That game will be played in Glendale, AZ on January 11.
