Arkansas Razorbacks not just a running team this year

FAYETTEVILLE, AR (WAFB) - Arkansas football simply runs the ball, right? Well, this year the Razorbacks are not just running the ball. The offense led by senior quarterback Brandon Allen is averaging 275 yards passing a game.

Allen is second in the SEC in passing yardage. He has thrown for 2,476 yards, behind only Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly's 3,224 yards.

Arkansas is also number two in the SEC in total offense. The Hogs are averaging 472 yards per game. Along with the 280 passing yards a game, the Razorbacks are running the ball for 192 yards a game.

Running back Alex Collins leads the rushing attack with 1,068 yards this season, an average of 118.7 yards per game.

Arkansas has lost two running backs to season-ending injuries this year. Jonathan Williams suffered a left foot injury in a pre-season scrimmage and Rawleigh Williams suffered a neck injury against Auburn.

Drew Morgan and Hunter Henry are the two top receiving targets for Allen. Morgan has 44 receptions for 620 yards and nine touchdowns, and Henry has 34 catches for 469 yards and one touchdown.

LSU will face a balanced offense Saturday against Arkansas. Kickoff in Tiger Stadium is set for 6:15 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.
