TROPICAL UPDATE:
Tropical Storm Kate continues to move quickly NE - away from the Bahamas, the eastern seaboard, the Gulf of Mexico!
 
"Kate" is forecast to become a Category 1 hurricane by late tonight - BUT, it will stay out in the open waters of the Atlantic - passing to the north of Bermuda tonight and early tomorrow.
 
Currently, the location of "Kate" is about 350 miles south of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina … 600 miles west of Bermuda; highest sustained winds have increased to 70 mph; moving to the NE at 21 mph.
 
There are NO watches or warnings in effect …
 
WEATHER HEADLINES:
Quiet weather continues today - tomorrow; not anticipating much 24 hour change - with the exception of warmer afternoon temperatures, from the mid 70°s today to the lower 80°s Wednesday …
 
Increasing activity on FIRST ALERT Doppler radar late tomorrow and through the overnight hours early Thursday - showers likely, along with a slight chance of thunderstorms
 
Storm Prediction Center NOT including our viewing area under a marginal/slight risk of severe weather tomorrow; however, the NW part of our state WILL be included …
 
Once this latest storm system moves through, cooler air returns … we’ll start off in the mid 40°s both Saturday and Sunday mornings; NO mention of rain THIS Saturday (so we’re “done” with rainy weather after three Saturdays in a row)!
