UPDATE: Escaped Catahoula Parish inmate found on Scenic Highway, back in custody

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

UPDATE: The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office confirms that 44-year-old Curtis Hanson, the man who escaped from a work release program on Sunday morning, was placed back into custody before 7:30 p.m.

An EBRSO spokesperson says that Hanson was located on Scenic Highway.

The East Baton Roue Parish Sheriff's Department is searching for a man who escaped a work release program Sunday morning. 

Deputies are looking for 44-year-old Curtis Hanson. 

According to deputies, between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Hanson left his assigned area located at Mike Gerald's Trailer Depot at 6800 Airline Highway. 

Hanson was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and brown boots. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 235 pounds.  

Deputies say that they also believe that Hanson may be in possession of a screwdriver and mentioned that he would attack any law enforcement who attempted arrest him.
