BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are searching for an inmate who did not return to jail from his work release post Tuesday evening.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Kevin Whetstone, 30, was working offshore on a tugboat and left the site after the boat docked.
Casey Rayborn Hicks, spokeswoman for EBRSO, said Whetstone called a relative for a ride and told the family member he was allowed to leave.
Whetstone is serving time on a cocaine possession charge from Livingston Parish. It is believed he may be in the Livingston Parish area.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call EBRSO at 389-5000.
