BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola is set to host the grand opening of a new part of the Angola Museum.
The Reception Center, which housed the hospital and admissions for new inmates, was built in 1951, and was used until 2007. Now, the center is open to the public as a part of the Angola Museum. It will include different exibits and programs designed to teach visitors what life was like inside the prison.
The event is free and open to the public. It will be held on Sunday, November 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
