(WAFB) - Former LSU linebacker and Tampa Bay rookie Kwon Alexander had the best game of his young professional career just 48 hours after his brother was killed.
Alexander's 17-year-old brother, Broderick Taylor II, was shot to death in Alabama on Friday, and on Sunday, the linebacker led the Buccaneers defense with 11 tackles, a recovered fumble and the team's only interception in a win against the Atlanta Falcons.
Following the contest, head coach Lovie Smith and team captain Logan Mankins presented Alexander with the game ball for his performance under the heartbreaking circumstances.
His effort earned him an NFL Rookie of the Week nomination for Week 8. Fans can vote here.
"I did it for him," Alexander told the media at his locker.
