Baker High student arrested for allegedly assaulting Assistant Principal

BAKER, LA (WAFB) -

The Baker Police Department has arrested a student accused of assaulting the Assistant Principal.

Police say the incident happened just before 7:30 a.m. Monday morning at Baker High School.

According to the police, they were called by the Assistant Principal who stated that he was threatened and attacked by 18-year-old Devonte Walker.

Police say that the Assistant Principal repeatedly asked Walker to put his phone away and he refused. When he told Walker to go to his office that is when Walker threatened to fight him.

The Assistant Principal alerted police on duty at the school and had Walker arrested.

Walker was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison where he has been charged with disturbing the peace, assault on a school teacher and resisting an officer.
