BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The lawyer for a woman who was injured Thursday night after falling off of a ride at the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair said the safety bar was never locked.

Attorney Ralph Fletcher said Andraea Gilmore, 20, of Baton Rouge, suffered a broken left arm, broken ribs, a broken bone in her left thumb and other minor injuries.

He stated the worker did not manually check to see if the safety bar was locked and added the woman did not stand during the ride.

The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
