BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Getting into the Halloween spirit, Baton Rouge Police hosted their second ever "Boo With the Blue."
Thousands of people showed up to trick or treat with officers. Candy, costumes, and even a haunted house made fore a safe, family friendly event.
Chief Carl Dabadie, dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, said that the party is a great way for the community to get to know the department.
"This is about community involvement. This is about a safe environment for the kids to come trick or treat, interact with our police officers and all kind of costumes as you can see," said Dabadie.
The BRPD also put some of their equipment and technology on display, including their horse mounted unit, dressed as the headless horseman.
