BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has officially asked Florida's governor for the return of a man accused of murdering a Baton Rouge couple.
Jindal wants Governor Rick Scott to issue a warrant for Ernesto Alonso's return so officials can go pick him up after his next hearing.
Alonso is accused in the murder of Denis and Suzanne Duplantier. The Duplantiers were found strangled in the backseat of a truck in Hammond on October 20 after Baton Rouge Police were called out to their house the night before.
Alonso is fighting extradition back to Louisiana and his next Florida hearing is scheduled for November 19.
