THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) -

Authorities say a Thibodaux man was arrested after he tried to use a power drill to force his way into a victim's car.

Thibodaux Police say Charles Sagona, 37, was arrested after he and the victim met at a business in the 800 block of North Canal Boulevard. After talking for some time, police say the victim attempted to leave, but was blocked by Sagona's vehicle.

The victim then got in their car. Sagona allegedly started banging on the victim's car door, demanding them to lower it. When the victim refused, Sagona allegedly attempted to drill the car's lock with a power drill. The suspect was arrested when police arrived on the scene.

Sagona was arrested for false imprisonment and disturbing the peace. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $200 bond. He is also facing a domestic abuse battery charge from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office with an additional $5,000 bond.
