BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A U.S. attorney says a man arrested on 500 counts of child pornography possession was indicted by a grand jury for child pornography charges.
Anthony Kurtz, 40 was indicted by a grand jury for possessing child pornography. U.S. Attorney Walt Green says that the victims in this case were under the age of 12. The suspect in this case was arrested in July as a part of a roundup effort by the Louisiana Attorney General's office.
"Children victimized during the production of child pornography are re-victimized every time these images are distributed and viewed on the internet," said U.S. Attorney Walt Green. This office will continue to protect society's most vulnerable citizens by vigorously prosecuting any individuals who distribute and possess images of children being sexually abused."
Possession or distribution of pornography involving juveniles is punishable by up to 20 years in prison for each count.
