BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - After nearly a month long investigation into a shooting, detectives have arrested a suspect they think was involved.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported Eddie McKneely, 21, is accused of being with the person who shot a young man on October 5.
According to an affidavit, it happened on Keel Avenue, which is in the Gardere area, while the victim was riding his bicycle to a friend's house. The victim was in critical condition for a time, but did pull through.
The report stated the victim told investigators he knew McKneely from the neighborhood. A suspected shooter has not been identified.
McKneely is charged with principal to attempted second-degree murder and principal to illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities. His bond was set at $100,000.
A date for a grand jury hearing has not been set.
