Ascension Parish Narcotics Detectives were called to a local hotel after receiving an anonymous tip that large amounts of methamphetamine was being distributed.

When detectives arrived, they found a vehicle illegally parked in the roadway. Deputies say both 29-year-old David Duplessis Jr. and 21-year-old Tori Orillion were inside the vehicle.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found a handgun, Suboxone, 34 grams of meth, drug packaging and $2,500 in cash. Deputies also searched the hotel room where the couple were staying and found a scale and drug paraphernalia.

The approximate street value of the methamphetamine seized was $3,500.

Duplesses, of Gonzales, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm by convicted felon, operating vehicle while license suspended, stopping or parking outside business or residence districts, and illegal carrying of weapons.

Deputies say Duplessis has a lengthy criminal history and has been arrested over 15 times with charges stemming from theft, burglary, and drug charges.

Tori Orillion, 21, of St. Amant, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia prohibited acts, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute Suboxone, and illegal carrying of weapons.

Both were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail early Wednesday morning where no bond has been set yet.
