AMELIA, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was reported missing over the weekend.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Nevis Sterling, 25, of Centerville, was reported missing Sunday afternoon.
According to deputies, Sterling's family contacted the sheriff's office after his car was discovered at the Deli Mart on LA 182 in Verdunville.
Investigators said Sterling's body was found in the Intracoastal Waterway in Amelia by a tugboat crew Monday afternoon.
An autopsy is underway to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
