Suspect in gagging, raping of 15-year-old turns himself in to police

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The Baton Rouge Police confirm that one suspect in the rape of a 15-year-old turned himself in to police on Friday night.

Robert Jacobs, 31, is facing 1st degree rape and sexual battery charges in connection with the gagging and raping of a 15-year-old on October 20.

Jacobs is currently a registered sex offender.

The victim was found in a drainage ditch on in the 1100 block of North 44th street.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Special Victims Unit at 389-3853 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
