BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Among the things people will vote for on Saturday is a tax renewal. A millage for the Downtown Development District is on the October 24 ballot.
People who live in the Downtown Development District area in Baton Rouge will vote on the tax, which funds the DDD and its work.
"We've been bringing it back in a lot of different ways, based upon a very strategic masterplan process. We hired the best planners in the country and we go about implementing it," said Davis Rhorer with DDD.
"While I own multiple properties in the Downtown area, and this is a tax that adds a few dollars" Christine Nichols, Downtown property owner. "The revelation of Downtown has increased our property values, but more importantly has increased the quality of life."
The Downtown footprint has expanded this year to the north, east and south so there is now more to be revived.
