LAFAYETTE, LA (WAFB) - A child predator who was wanted for evading sex offender registration was arrested in Lafayette, according to the Louisiana Attorney General's Office.
Kenny Ruffin, of Port Allen, was wanted by the West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office for failing to register as a sex offender. Ruffin, 34, was required to register after being convicted in 2007 of indecent behavior with juveniles.
The Louisiana Attorney General's Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) were asked to help WBRSO in finding Ruffin.
Ruffin was found Tuesday trying to evade arrest by hiding under a bed in a Lafayette home on Short Street.
Ruffin was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for violating sex offender registration laws in both West Baton Rouge and Lafayette Parishes.
The Attorney General's FAU made the arrest with assistance from the WBRSO, , Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, and Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections Division of Probation and Parole.
