BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man accused of kidnapping and leading police on a wild chase was arrested Monday.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Ronnie Jewitt fled from officers after he allegedly stole phones and a GPS device from a business on Tom Drive.

Officers said they chased him down Florida Boulevard, before Jewitt reportedly left his own car and got into another with a woman inside.

Investigators added Jewitt was eventually found hiding under a house.

Jewitt was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree kidnapping, hit and run, felony theft, resisting an officer, flight from an officer, simple criminal damage to property and carjacking.

Bond has not been set.
