BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The basic training academy with the Baton Rouge Police Department began Monday.
For the next 22 weeks, 26 men and women will go through extensive physical and mental exercise.
"Through the 22 weeks, they're going to have combination of not only academic but physical fitness to ensure when they get out, they know what they're doing and properly fit to perform the job to keep our community safe," Cpl. Don Coppola with BRPD said.
