BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Saturday, October 17 is the last day to vote early, ahead of the October 24 Louisiana gubernatorial primary election.
Secretary of Louisiana Tom Schedler says that early voting locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Those who want to vote early may do so at a number of approved locations, which can be found HERE.
"Early voting has been steady during the past week," said Secretary of State Tom Schedler. "Our numbers indicate slightly less participation than we saw during the 2014 Congressional Elections which resulted in a 50% statewide turnout. The Gubernatorial Elections next Saturday could see anywhere from 40 to 50% turnout if history is any indication."
Voters can also use the smartphone app GeauxVote Mobile to find out where to vote, what is on their ballot, and their voting district. More information on that app can be found HERE.
There are more than 1,000 races taking place statewide, along with four potential constitutional ammendments and 73 propositions.
