BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Breast cancer awareness is one of the biggest parts of October along with Halloween and spooky skeletons, but two organizations are looking to dedicate a day to the deadly disease.
BREC and Subaru of Baton Rouge will host an event called "Paddling in the Park" at the Milford J. Wampold Park on 901 Stanford Avenue.
The event will take place on Sunday, October 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for the Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
Those in attendance will have 20 minutes to paddle kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards with a voluntary $10 donation.
All participants are encouraged to wear pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
