BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A community gathered Tuesday evening in an attempt to make sense of an accidental shooting that resulted in the death of a teenage boy.

Family and friends held a vigil to remember Brian Banks, 15, of Baton Rouge. Police said he was shot in the face while he and another teen were playing with a gun.

It happened at the Hooper Pointe Apartments early Tuesday morning.

Kevin Aguillard, 17, faces charges of negligent homicide and illegal use of a weapon.

Family members of the victims said they hope this tragedy sends a message to young people about proper gun use.
