BRPD releases name of suspect in shooting on Cristy Dr

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

UPDATE: The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified the suspect in this shooting as 26-year-old Jaime Rivera, of 1283 Cristy Drive. He is wanted on 2nd degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, and illegal use of a weapon charges.

The Baton Rouge Police Department has identified the victim and are searching for a suspect in Saturday night's shooting on Cristy Drive.

Police have identified the deceased victim as 33-year-old Eduardo Olivias of Denham Springs. 

According to police, the shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of Cristy Dr.

When police arrived, they found Olivias and a 36-year-old male who had both been shot. Olivias was pronounced dead at the scene. The unidentified male victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

BRPD has released photos of the man they say is a suspect in the shooting. 

Police say that they believe that Olivias and the suspect were involved in an argument that led to the shooting.
