BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Police said the public stepped up big and gave them information that led to the arrest of a teen suspected of being involved in the shooting and robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
The Baton Rouge Police Department reported a 15-year-old boy is charged with armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder. Due to his age, his name was not released. That could change if it is decided to charge him as an adult.
Detectives believe three teenagers were involved in the shooting and robbery.
According to investigators, the incident happened on Shelley Street between Maple Drive and Lemonwood Drive on October 1 around 11:15 p.m.
Cpl. L'Jean Mckneely with BRPD said the 20-year-old Domino's driver was making a delivery in the area when three teens tried to force their way into her car.
Police said one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the delivery worker in the arm. They then grabbed the food and ran away. The woman called police and was taken to the hospital. Her current condition is unknown.
The suspects are described as being between 15 and 17 years old. Mckneely said two had a thin build, while the other had a larger build.
The investigation is ongoing.
