BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Secretary of State Tom Schedler is encouraging all Louisianians eligible to vote in the Saturday, October 24, 2015 Gubernatorial Primary Election to consider voting early. Early voting begins Saturday, October 10, 2015 and continues through Saturday, October 17, 2015.
Early voting times start at 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily, except for Sunday, October 11, 2015.
"Early voting is a great way to conveniently cast your ballot on your schedule instead of having to fit it in on Election Day," said Secretary of State Tom Schedler. "Saturdays are always busy for individuals and families and with an LSU home game and Southern travel game scheduled, as well as the start of hunting season, many voters should think ahead and consider early voting now."
Voters should utilize Louisiana's award winning smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to find out where to vote, what's on their ballot and their voting districts. Statewide, there are more than 1,000 candidate races including all statewide elected officials and legislators.
Additionally, there are four statewide constitutional amendments voters will be asked to decide as well as 73 propositions in 27 parishes.
Citizens who want to vote early may do so in person at their parish Registrar of Voters' Office or at other designated locations. For a complete listing of early voting locations visit: https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/EarlyVoting.
