A man and woman were arrested on drug charges after a meth lab was discovered inside the home they share and where two children also live.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Richard Fontenot, 42, and Miranda Brown, 22, both of Franklin, were arrested Tuesday afternoon. They both face the following charges:
Possession of methamphetamine
Operation of a clandestine laboratory
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of controlled dangerous substance in the presence of juveniles
Bond was set at $1,500 for each. Jail records show Brown was released early Wednesday morning. Fontenot remained behind bars.
Detectives said they were investigating the possibility a meth lab was located at the home when they found meth, drug paraphernalia and several items used to make meth.
