BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Police Department is close to rolling out body cams for officers.
BRPD Police Chief Carl Dabadie and other top brass will meet with city leaders, including Metro Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle, at 1 p.m. Wednesday for a Police Body Camera Study Committee meeting.
The East Baton Rouge Metro Council passed a resolution to create the study committee of 15 people to meet and discuss the body camera pilot program.
The pilot program is geared towards putting the first 100 cameras on the streets soon.
According to BRPD officials, the cameras are scheduled to be distributed within a week.
