BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

Crews helped clear the way for revitalization efforts at a familiar Baton Rouge site that's been vacant for years.

The old Broadmoor Theatre location on Florida Boulevard is officially coming down. Crews are starting to demolish the buildings where a new medical complex is expected to go.

The theater was a fixture in Baton Rouge for decades, but over the last year, crews have been slowly working to transform it into something new.

The sign came down over the summer and many of the theater's old furnishings were picked up by Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider, who plans to use them for his own theater in Livingston Parish.
