BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One of LSU's most anticipated events of the year hit a patch of perfect weather on Friday.
LSU's Fall Fest will took place on Friday afternoon on the LSU Parade Ground. The event will began with food and music services, with noon appearances from the Golden Band from Tiger Land, the LSU Golden Girls, and LSU Cheerleaders.
The day continued with an address from LSU President F. King Alexander to incoming freshmen and current students.
The university president urged students to "Get a little closer to graduating every day, and enjoy this great university. Geaux Tigers."
More than 65 tables representing campus groups and interests, as well as area businesses sponsoring the event showed off their wares near the Parade Ground tree line near the LSU Student Union and along Highland Road. Several games and activities were at the event, including the University Recreation rock climbing wall.
LSU Fall Fest was created in 1994 as the Chancellor's official welcome to new students, and a welcome back for returning members of the university.
