BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A Baton Rouge attorney was taken to jail late Tuesday night following a loud outburst in a courtroom, according to officials.
According to court records, Jeffery Sanford was held in contempt by Family Court Judge Beau Higginbotham.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Prison reports Sanford was booked Wednesday and was released after posting bond.
Court documents showed Sanford was representing Justin Cotham, who was charged with second-degree kidnapping and false imprisonment.
The trial started on September 29. According to records, the judge dismissed the false imprisonment charge.
