EUNICE, LA (WAFB) -

A deadly fire in Eunice has been ruled a murder-suicide, according to the  Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Authorities say they believe 39-year-old Carla Watford shot her two daughters, 16-year-old Julia Watford and 9-year-old Jayia Watford, set the house on S. 4th Street on fire and then killed herself.

Firefighters responded to the fire after midnight Sunday to find the house mostly engulfed in flames.

Fire investigators say they found evidence of accelerants in the bedroom where all three bodies were found. All evidence found will be examined by the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.

Autopsies to determine the exact cause of death are expected to be performed on Wednesday.
