This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Jerry Broussard. Broussard sent us an email responding to our commentary about the possibility of building a commuter rail line between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Broussard is not in favor of the idea.
In his words: While it's admirable the enthusiasm for the line between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, from the common sense aspect, what do you when you get there? How do you get around once you're off the train? It might cost you ten dollars to ride but have you ever paid for a taxi ride to and from your destination around either of the two cities? On paper it might look feasible, but in reality follow the money to see who really benefits from this endeavor.
