BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana political commentator James Carville gave tough talk Tuesday about the state's future.
Carville was WRKF radio's special guest for lunch at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The Democrat spoke to a couple hundred people, getting a lot of laughs when making jokes about one of the gubernatorial candidates.
Carville made two jokes about Sen. David Vitter's history with prostitutes.
The St. Gabriel native would not tell the audience which candidate he supports, but he did have a lot to say about Louisiana's problems at the State Capitol.
"Our survival is not a given," said Carville. "When we have bad political leadership, it actually harms not just the future, but to some extent the existence."
Carville is currently a political science professor at Tulane University.
