BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A man has been arrested in connection with two attempted murder charges.

Marlon Morris, 21, of Baton Rouge, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a residence on Louise Street regarding an assault.

Officers with Baton Rouge Police say Marlon and two victims were arguing with each other and Morris was asked to leave. Morris allegedly refused and pointed a gun to one victim’s head. The victims then told police that they were able to escape unharmed.

Two hours later, police were called to the same Louise Street residence where Morris was hiding in bushes. When police were notified where Morris was hiding, he tried to run away. After a brief foot chase, Morris was tazed and arrested.

When interviewed by police, one victim said Morris was waiting in the bushes with a weapon. Upon further investigation, officers were able to find a small black handgun under a white sweater about 20 feet away from where Morris was spotted.

Morris is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, resisting an officer, and aggravated assault with a firearm.

He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a $60,500 bond.
