Man allegedly robs casino, turns self in

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) - The West Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a suspect who allegedly robbed a casino.

36-year-old Cedric Morgan was arrested on an armed robbery charge after the WBR Sheriff's Office says he robbed the Wildfire Casino in Port Allen at about 3:00 a.m.

WBR Sheriff Mike Cazes says that deputies spotted Morgan's vehicle shortly after the robbery, chasing the suspect into Baton Rouge. The chase ended when the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and began making his way to a wooded area near East Mason Drive.

BRPD K-9 units were dispatched to the area, but were unable to find the suspect. Cash and cash-out tickets were located in the woods along the path the suspect took.

Morgan turned himself in to detectives Saturday afternoon. He was booked into the WBR Detention Center, and the investigation is ongoing.
