BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank received a large donation on Thursday in honor of National Hunger Action Month.
The Louisiana Rice Industry donated 15,000 pounds of rice to the food bank. That is enough to feed almost 200,000 people.
"It's a tremendous impact for us, because it's a stable of the Louisiana diet," says Michael Manning, of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. "It's a staple of those in need in our community."
