Ascension Parish first responders to hold moment of prayer on 9/11

GONZALES, LA (WAFB) -

First responders in Ascension Parish say they will hold a moment of prayer in remembrance of the firefighters and law enforcement who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

"The events of September 11, 2001, not only changed lives for the American people, but for people across this world," stated Ascension Parish Fire District Chairman James LeBlanc. The chairman urged the entire Ascension Parish community to come out and show support for the 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.

Ascension Parish authorities will gather at the Fire District #1 Headquarters at 13192 Airline Highway in Gonzales on September 11 for a moment of prayer and a presentation of the American flag to Ascension Parish from the Ascension Funeral home. The public is invited to this event, which starts at 11:00 a.m.
