BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Governor Bobby Jindal announced a statewide day of prayer to honor law enforcement across the nation.
Jindal announced plans to hold a public prayer rally on the steps on the state capitol to be held on Monday, September 14 at 11:30 a.m.
The governor says that law enforcement officers as well as public officials and faith leaders will gather at the rally to honor law enforcement, and pray for their well being.
"Too often, we forget the sacrifice and commitment these brave men and women make on a daily basis in order to protect our families and uphold the peace in our communities," said Jindal. "Our officers understand the real risk and responsibility that comes with this career and we are extremely grateful for their dedicated service."
Jindal is encouraging all Louisianians to take a few minutes out of their day to pray for and thank a local law enforcement officer for their service to the community.
