BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU officials say that refund information for LSU Football's non-game versus McNeese State will be released in the coming days.
LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonette tells 9News that details about ticket refunds and other options will be available on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
The news comes after LSU and McNeese state were supposed to play their scheduled football game on Saturday, but was cancelled due to weather concerns without the possibility of rescheduling.
LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva says that the game was not played because of safety concerns for the student athletes. Alleva said to media outlets that playing the game on Sunday was "Not really an option," because their opponents did not have a hotel to spend the night in.
Alleva says that LSU will still fulfill the school's $500,000 financial obligations to McNeese.
LSU's next game will be played at Mississippi State on Saturday, September 12 at 8:15 p.m.. The game will be played on ESPN.
