BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A Baton Rouge Mexican restaurant is changing its logo, and needs the public’s help deciding on the new look.

Ninfa’s Mexican Restaurant is being rebranded as Tio Javi’s Fresh-Mex Bar and Grill at the end of September. The name change pays homage to current restaurant general manager Javier Pallais, who started working at the business in 2010.

“I didn’t know they were going to do this,” says Pallais. “I was definitely shocked.”

The menu, drinks, staff, and managers will remain the same. Pallais says the changes are a way for the restaurant to forge its own brand.

The restaurant is asking its customers to help select one of six new logos, all of which feature the restaurant’s new name in different shapes and colors.

The restaurant will hold a block party on September 30 to unveil the winning design. Voting ends on September 14.
