The New Orleans Saints lose last preseason game to the Green Bay Packers, 38-10. The teams were tied 10-10 at halftime. The Saints lost all four of their preseason games.

The Saints led the Packers 10-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and did not score again for the rest of the game.

"That was an ugly second half of football," said head coach Sean Payton.

The Saints had 148 yards in the first quarter and 115 in the final three quarters. They scored all 10 points on their first two possessions. New Orleans ended the game with a missed field goal, six punts and two interceptions.

"Our early drives were good and then we kicked the field good and after that, you know, it just seemed like we stalled a little bit more," said Payton.

Luke McCown got the start at quarterback for the Saints but only stayed in for one series. He was 5 of 5 for 82 yards and had one touchdown with a 7-yard pass to WR Willie Snead.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers both didn't start the final game of the preseason.

Quarterback Ryan Griffin came in to replace McCown for the Saints in the first quarter. He was 7 of 13 for 56 yards.

Garrett Grayson came in as quarterback for the Saints at the start of the second half. He was intercepted twice, including once by Packers' Tay Glover-Wright on a pass to Joe Morgan near the end of the 3rd quarter. Grayson was 8 of 19 for 71 yards.

Hopkins misses on a 53-yd FG attempt. Packers lead 17-10 with 3:10 left in the 3rd quarter.

Most of the Saints starters on offense and all the top players for the defense sat out of the final preseason game. Saints safety Jamarca Sanford was helped off field by trainers after colliding with a teammate, Brian Dixon.

"I thought we struggled at corner," said Payton about the back-ups. "And those are second year guys, so that was discourraging."

The Saints had nine penalties for 71 yards.

Green Bay quarterback Brett Hundley was 16 of 23 for 236 yards and four touchdowns.

New Orleans start the regular season at Arizona against the Cardinals on Sunday, September 13.
