Baton Rouge man accused of burglary turns himself into Port Allen police

PORT ALLEN, LA (WAFB) -

A man accused of stealing thousands in items from Port Allen residences has been arrested. 

26-year-old Anthony James Carr Jr., of Baton Rouge, turned himself into the Port Allen Police Department Wednesday. He was wanted for allegedly breaking into a home on Avenue C. 

Carr has been charged with simple burglary and flight from an officer.

Chief Brown said just before 10 a.m. Monday, Carr allegedly kicked in a door of a home on Ave. C. He added someone riding their bike down Ave. C saw the break-in and called police. When police arrived, a high speed chased started. Carr was lost due to heavy traffic when he went across the bridge. 

A judge signed a warrant Tuesday for Carr's arrest.
