3rd arrest made in deadly Thibodaux drive-by shooting

THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - Thibodaux Police has made a third arrest in connection to a July drive-by shooting.

22-year-old Kelsha Smith, of Raceland, was arrested for her role in the shooting that happened in the 200 block of Sanders Street. 34-year-old Derrick Reed was killed and two others were injured.

Detectives learned that Smith was helping one of the suspects, Jordan Williams. He and Brian Gibson have already been arrested and charged with one count of second degree murder and five counts of attempted second-degree murder. They each have a $1.5 million dollar bond.

Smith was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and charged with accessory after the fact as well as failing to appear on traffic offenses. A warrant had been issued by the 32nd JDC for failing to appear. Her bond was set at $100,000.

The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing as police search for anyone involved directly or indirectly. Detectives are looking for two persons of interest, Cedrick Banks and Kenya Patterson
