THIBODAUX, LA (WAFB) - Thibodaux police say 45-year-old George Flowers of Gibson, LA was arrested after he tried to steal his vehicle from a tow yard.
Officials say Flowers was arrested in April after he was stopped for speeding and was found to be driving with a suspended license and had a warrant out for his arrest. During this arrest, his vehicle was towed by the business he wanted to leave it parked at.
On August 31, just before 11 a.m., Flowers went to the tow yard, demanding that they give him the vehicle. He learned the vehicle was given to the business where Flowers left his car during his arrest. Officers say Flowers was given forewarning that his vehicle would be given to the business if he did not pay the fees associated with tow and storage for the past several months.
Police say flowers tried to steal the vehicle, but was blocked by tow trucks, one of which he backed into. At one point, Flowers swung a pipe at an employee.
Flowers was arrested and charged with attempted theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, and remaining after being forbidden. He is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $6,000 bond.
