BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - LSU Director of Athletics and Vice Chancellor Joe Alleva has announced world-renowned artist, OneRepublic, will be performing at Tiger Stadium during halftime of the LSU-Florida football game on October 17.
The LSU Athletic Department and LSU Sports Properties collaborated with College Live to develop special halftime performances that will also integrate with LSU's Golden Band from Tigerland.
"The LSU Golden Band from Tigerland is honored to share the field this season at halftime with OneRepublic," says Roy King, LSU Director of Bands. "Our students have begun their preparation for theses historic performances in Tiger Stadium. I know that each and every one of our band members are excited to perform with such exceptional artists."
OneRepublic is an American rock band that is known for their hits "Apologize", "Good Life", "Counting Stars", "Love Runs Out", "Secrets" and "All the Right Moves". Their most recent album "Native" reached number 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
In addition to OneRepublic, Alleva plans to announce another world-renowned act in the coming days that will perform at another SEC home game.
"This is a unique opportunity that we are excited to bring to tiger stadium this fall," says Alleva. "We continue to look for ways to enhance and compliment what is already the best atmosphere in college football and we think that these two performances will be something that our fans will enjoy."
Don Green, president of College Live LCC, says fans can expect even more things to be added to LSU games in the future.
"Saturday night in Tiger Stadium is about to get even bigger," added Green. "We are more than thrilled to bring the ultimate college football experience to an entirely new level. Envision chart-topping musical artists joining with the Golden Band from Tigerland, the parade grounds filled with interactive displays, fan experiences and more."
A limited number of tickets remain for all of the home games.
